The Zeitwinkel warranty

Every Zeitwinkel watch leaving our manufacture has been assembled, regulated and checked with the utmost care by our watchmakers to ensure that it meets our high quality standards.

When you hold your watch in your hands, it has successfully passed all of our quality and functional checks.

However, if a defect ("fault") should occur in your watch, we will provide you with a Zeitwinkel factory warranty against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase or 24 months after receipt if purchased over the Internet.

We deliver every watch with a Zeitwinkel watch passport, which serves as a proof of quality and international guarantee when fully completed and signed. In addition, the watch passport represents the certificate of authenticity for your watch.

Warranty cases

During the warranty period and upon presentation of the valid warranty certificate, you are entitled to have any defect repaired free of charge at Zeitwinkel. Excluded from our factory warranty are all defects or damage caused as a result of improper handling (knocks, impacts, other violent shocks, etc.), tampering or third-party intervention.

Damage caused by a third party not certified by Zeitwinkel is not covered by the warranty and will void the warranty. Also, neither loss, theft, nor damage caused by negligence, fire or accident are covered. Normal signs of use, aging or wear on the watch (e.g. changes in color and/or material, scratches, etc.) are also not covered by the factory warranty.

Only watches with a fully completed watch passport and intact serial numbers can be considered for the purpose of granting our Zeitwinkel warranty. After the warranty period has expired, repairs and maintenance are subject to a charge.

Spare parts used by Zeitwinkel or certified Zeitwinkel service partners as part of an overhaul or warranty claim are also covered by a 24-month warranty. Partial or complete replacement of the product is permitted and is at the discretion of Zeitwinkel.

Service

Like any mechanism that operates with high precision, your Zeitwinkel watch needs inspection from time to time. We therefore recommend that you have it serviced and cleaned by a professional every three years. This maintenance can be done either by Zeitwinkel itself or by an authorized Zeitwinkel service concessionaire.

Should your watch require cleaning, maintenance or care, please contact an official Zeitwinkel concessionaire or contact us directly at service{at}zeitwinkel.ch.

 


Where can I turn in case of a complaint?

Please check your watch and packaging directly upon receipt.  In case of a complaint, we would ask you to report it immediately by e-mail to service@zeitwinkel.ch or by fax to +41(0)32-940.17.81.

Your claim will be examined by us immediately upon receipt of your notification. Our staff will contact you no later than the following business day and discuss all further steps with you.

We would like to ask you not to return your watch without having consulted us first.

Following the instructions of your Zeitwinkel representative, please return the watch to us in its original condition, undamaged and not taken into use with all accessories in the original packaging. For insurance reasons, the shipment must be made with our contract logistics partner. We will be happy to assist you in completing all necessary shipping documents and will organize a pickup of the watch by the courier service at your doorstep.

The costs for the return shipment will be borne by us if you comply with our return shipping instructions. We will provide you with a replacement watch, the delivery date of which will be subject to availability and stock.

If a watch cannot be replaced for a longer period of time, your personal Zeitwinkel representative will contact you and work with you to find a solution.

 


Where can I turn for maintenance or repair of my Zeitwinkel watch?

Upon request, we will name you an authorized Zeitwinkel service partner in your area or inform you about the exact procedure for an inspection of your timepiece by Zeitwinkel itself.

Please do not send in your watch without prior consultation with us and without instructions from your Zeitwinkel service representative.

For insurance reasons, it is necessary to have the watch transported by our logistics contract partners. Please also enclose the Zeitwinkel watch passport, which serves as an international warranty certificate and proof of authenticity.

 

After the warranty period of 24 months from the date of purchase, maintenance and repairs of a watch are subject to a charge.

Please understand that we cannot give any binding estimate of the expected cost of a repair in advance. This varies greatly from case to case and according to the severity of the defect or the time and effort required for the repair.

We will be happy to contact you after receiving and inspecting your watch and discuss the expected repair costs with you. In addition to the costs for the repair, there are also fees for the transport. However, the shipment by our official logistics partners is always insured by us for transport.


What is the procedure in the event of a warranty claim?

In the event of a warranty claim, please contact our Zeitwinkel staff directly or an authorized Zeitwinkel concessionaire in your area.

Only official Zeitwinkel service partners have the necessary technical know-how to professionally perform maintenance on your watch and are also authorized to carry out this work.

However, you can also have your watch checked and repaired by Zeitwinkel itself. Please do not return any watch to us without first consulting a Zeitwinkel representative.

Please inform us by fax to +41(0)32-940.17.81 or by e-mail to service@zeitwinkel.ch and you will be contacted by us the next working day at the latest. In personal contact with a representative, all shipping arrangements for transporting your watch to our nearest service center for maintenance will be discussed with you.

Our representative will also explain how to return your watch to us safely protected and correctly packed. He or she will also be happy to contact our logistics company to possibly arrange a pickup of the watch from the carrier at your home.

We are sure you will understand that for insurance reasons we work exclusively with our logistics partner. The shipping costs will be paid by Zeitwinkel. In order to grant our Zeitwinkel guarantee, only watches with a completely filled out watch passport and intact serial numbers can be considered.

Who bears the shipping charges in the event of a warranty claim?

In the event of a warranty claim, Zeitwinkel will bear the transport costs incurred for shipping your watch to our nearest service center. Only watches with a completely filled out watch passport and intact serial numbers can be considered for our Zeitwinkel warranty.
